Politically, Tony is President of the City of Liverpool Conservatives and stood as the Conservative Party Candidate for the Elected Mayor of Liverpool in 2012 and 2016.

Tony has also informally advised several members of the government on business issues, Chinese issues and during visits to Merseyside and also worked alongside Chris Grayling when he was Shadow Minister for Merseyside between 2007 and 2010.

Tony regularly commentates in the media on both business and political issues and starred in Channel 4’s critically acclaimed documentary “Brits Get Rich in China” and in the BBC’s “The Town Taking on China”.

Away from business and politics, Tony enjoys socialising and sports and is a keen supporter of Liverpool FC, where he is a season ticket holder.
